Hearthstone World Championship 2014 – $250,000 Prize Pool
Blizzard will be inviting the top Hearthstone players from all over the world for the Hearthstone World Championships, to be held at this year’s BlizzCon.
The total prize pool amounts to $250,000, to be distributed to the top 16 players as follows:
- $100,000 for first place
- $50,000 for second place
- $15,000 each for third and fourth place
- $7,500 each for fifth through eighth place
- $5,000 each for ninth through sixteenth place
Everyone will have the opportunity to put their skills to the test, as the best players from around the world will represent their region to fight for the Hearthstone World Champion title. Four players will be selected from each region, the Americas, Europe, China, and Korea/Taiwan, to qualify in a best-of-five “all-kill” live tournament at BlizzCon. Each player brings three decks and plays until one player wins three games, and when you lose, you must change the deck that you are currently playing.
Players are expected to bring their own decks, with three classes per player for each match. The rules has been laid out at the official Hearthstone page. BlizzCon 2014 will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA on November 7-8.
